Fundación Avina Consortium Meeting (Climate and Care Gathering)

The Hub joined partners from Latin America, Africa, Asia and North America at the first Climate and Care Gathering, where the five regional hubs shared their work and built a common vision for 2030 and a shared advocacy strategy, including a proposed Care Pavilion at COP31.

AVPN Global Conference 2026: ‘Investing in Care’

Gaurav Mehta (Dharmalife) presented the Hub to the Asia social investment and philanthropy community at AVPN’s flagship conference, themed ‘Investing in Care’. His message: childcare is economic infrastructure, and early philanthropic funding can prove a model that government and private capital then scale.

UN Women Strategic Roundtable

Gaurav Mehta (Dharmalife) presented the Hub at a strategic roundtable with UN Women, a consortium partner. The session, “Better Skills, Better Care”, showed why unpaid care decides whether skilling turns into paid work. Partners were invited to site visits in Jharkhand and Maharashtra in October and November 2026.

TransformCare South Asia Dialogue (SAARC)

A regional dialogue on transforming care systems to advance women’s economic empowerment in SAARC states. The consortium presented the emerging care and climate framework to South Asian policymakers, civil society and development partners.

Women Deliver 2026

The consortium joined the convening “Care at the Center of Climate Action” and hosted a Hub booth. A participant survey, with more than 50 pieces of feedback, validated the draft framework. Elizabeth Silva spoke at the Care Pavilion and Gaurav Mehta at a side event on health, climate and livelihoods.

Better Skills Better Care: Key Findings from the Midline Implementation Report

The Better Skills Better Care programme integrates vocational skilling, childcare services and gender-responsive community engagement to enhance women's labour force participation and improve early childhood development. This report presents findings from the programme's first phase across Ranchi, Satara and Vadodara.

The results show how accessible childcare, job training and entrepreneurial support can help women enter the labour market while improving children's early learning outcomes and encouraging more equitable caregiving norms.
